Australia - Gruyere mining plan approved

The Gruyere Gold Project, a 50:50 joint venture between ASX listed Gold Road Resources and Gold Fields, has been issued approval from the Department of Mines and Petroleum for the project management plan, mining proposal, and mine closure plan.

This is the final level of approval required to allow construction of the process plant, associated infrastructure and development work on the Gruyere opencast mine located about 200km east of Laverton in Western Australia. The next major development milestone will be the award of major contracts, including the EPC for the associated infrastructure, bulk earthworks, and power supply, which is expected in March.
