Patricia Zvarayi GCR affirms Northam Platinum’s positive outlook

Project targets a more flexible Black Rock

The scope of work at Assmang’s Black Rock underground expansion project in the Northern Cape is more than 50% complete. This is according to Peet Greyling, project director major projects for WorleyParsons RSA, the contractor that has continually been involved with the upgrade at Black Rock since 2010. According to Greyling, the aim of the project is to modernise the mine to optimise resource exploitation. “Assmang needs to create flexibility in the underground operations to ensure that the mine is able to react to market changes in time,” says Greyling.
