The Matla exhibition abuzz of activity with visitors and exhibitors.

Situated about 20km west of Kriel in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province, the Matla mining complex comprises three mines producing 14Mtpa of power station coal with a workforce of more than 2 500 people. It is a fully mechanised underground mine employing continuous mining and short-wall methods.

Matla, which means ‘strength’ in Sesotho, has coal reserves amounting to 297.3 million tonnes (Mt) of coking coal, making it one of the largest coal reserves in Africa and the world. The mine produces around 14Mt of coal a year, with the output going directly to the Matla Power Station.

Exhibitors should include companies that supply equipment or products to the coal mines or supply equipment or products that can be used in the coal mining process. In Witbank, it’s all about coal. So, if you’re involved in that business, then this expo is the place to be.
